BIO

Adelheid De Witte (°1982) lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. Her works can be seen as the continuation

of the Belgian surrealistic tradition yet in a contemporary context. Her landscapes originate from her own imagination,

but are also influenced by the old masters and grow mainly in an intuitive, organic way. The wooden works have

a shape that deviates from the traditional and are based on arbitrary forms of objects. The shapes of the panel

can be found in small, surrealist details in the painted landscape. Thus, the artist plays with the paradox of illusion and reality

and shows us new perspectives on reality. (Charlotte Crevits, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, 2018)
